Raichu 16/130 · Base Set 2

Raichu is Pokédex #026, generation 1 (Kanto). Raichu is a Stage 1 Lightning Pokémon with 80 HP. The card lists level 40. The card says it evolves from Pikachu. In this catalog that name is Pikachu (#025).

Raichu sits at 16/130 in Base Set 2, position 16 of 130. Before it is 15 Poliwrath, and after it is 17 Scyther. The set belongs to the Base series. It was released on 24 February 2000. The printed size is 130, and the checklist is the same length. The listed rarity is Rare Holo.

The attack Agility lists 20 damage. The cost is Lightning, Colorless, Colorless. Flip a coin. If heads, during your opponent's next turn, prevent all effects of attacks, including damage, done to Raichu. Thunder is another attack lists 60 damage. The cost is Lightning, Lightning, Lightning, Colorless. Flip a coin. If tails, Raichu does 30 damage to itself. Weakness is Fighting ×2. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "Its long tail serves as a ground to protect itself from its own high-voltage power."

Raichu (#026) has 70 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 51 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 1999 to 2026. The earliest other card is Raichu 14/102 in Base (1999). Both list 80 HP. Both list the rarity Rare Holo. 58 other cards of Raichu list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Ken Sugimori. I count 1,112 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Base Set 2 set binder is where a full Base Set 2 set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Raichu can fill a slot in Generation 1 binder (Kanto). I still need this card.
