Raichu 21/64 · Neo Revelation

Raichu is Pokédex #026, generation 1 (Kanto). Raichu is a Stage 1 Lightning Pokémon with 80 HP. The card lists level 39. The card says it evolves from Pikachu. In this catalog that name is Pikachu (#025).

Raichu sits at 21/64 in Neo Revelation, position 21 of 66. Before it is 20 Lugia, and after it is 22 Raikou. The set belongs to the Neo series. It was released on 21 September 2001. The printed size is 64. This checklist is longer, at 66 cards. The listed rarity is Rare.

The attack Thundershock lists 20 damage. The cost is Lightning, Colorless. Flip a coin. If heads, the Defending Pokémon is now Paralyzed. Lightning Strike is another attack lists 40 damage. The cost is Lightning, Lightning, Lightning. You may discard all Lightning Energy cards attached to Raichu. If you do, this attack does 80 damage. Weakness is Fighting ×2. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "If the electric pouches in its cheeks become fully charged, both ears will stand straight up."

Raichu (#026) has 70 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 51 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 1999 to 2026. The earliest other card is Raichu 14/102 in Base (1999). Both list 80 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Rare. Ken Sugimori illustrated that card, and Masako Yamashita illustrated this one. 58 other cards of Raichu list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Masako Yamashita. I count 23 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Neo Revelation set binder is where a full Neo Revelation set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Raichu can fill a slot in Generation 1 binder (Kanto). Themed lists that include this exact card are Pikachu's friends. I still need this card.
