Team Magma's Groudon 9/25 · Celebrations: Classic Collection

Celebrations: Classic Collection is a set in the Sword & Shield series. It was released on 8 October 2021. The printed size is 25. This checklist is longer, at 22 cards. Team Magma's Groudon is 9/25, in position 4 of 22 on this checklist. Before it is 8 Dark Gyarados, and after it is 15 Claydol. The listed rarity is Classic Collection.

Team Magma's Groudon is a Basic Fighting Darkness Pokémon with 100 HP. In the Pokédex this is Groudon (#383), generation 3 (Hoenn).

Kazuo Yazawa illustrated this card. The same name is on 9 other cards in the catalog.

Groudon (#383) has 33 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 21 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2003 to 2026. The earliest other card is Groudon ex 2/40 in Nintendo Black Star Promos (2003). That card is named Groudon ex, while this one is Team Magma's Groudon. That card lists 120 HP, and this one lists 100 HP. The rarity there is Promo, and here it is Classic Collection. 26 other cards of Groudon list a different HP.

Power Saver is listed as Poké-Body. As long as the number of Pokémon in play (both yours and your opponent's) that has Team Magma in its name is 3 or less, Team Magma's Groudon can't attack. The attack Linear Attack lists no damage number. The cost is Fighting, Colorless. Choose 1 of your opponent's Pokémon. This attack does 20 damage to that Pokémon. (Don't apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokémon.) Pulverize is another attack lists 50+ damage. The cost is Fighting, Fighting, Colorless. If the Defending Pokémon already has at least 2 damage counters on it, this attack does 50 damage plus 20 more damage. Weakness is Grass ×2. Retreat cost is 3. The card text says: This Pokémon is both Fighting Darkness type.

I keep a set binder for Celebrations: Classic Collection, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Celebrations: Classic Collection set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Groudon can fill a slot in Generation 3 binder (Hoenn). Themed lists that include this exact card are Trainer's Pokémon, Team Aqua and Team Magma, and Groudon, Kyogre, and Rayquaza. I still need this card.
