Rapidash 59/130 · Diamond & Pearl

Diamond & Pearl is a set in the Diamond & Pearl series. It was released on 1 May 2007. The printed size is 130, and the checklist is the same length. Rapidash is 59/130, in position 59 of 130 on this checklist. Before it is 58 Prinplup, and after it is 60 Rhydon. The listed rarity is Uncommon.

Rapidash is a Stage 1 Fire Pokémon with 80 HP. The card lists level 34. In the Pokédex this is Rapidash (#078), generation 1 (Kanto). The card says it evolves from Ponyta. In this catalog that name is Ponyta (#077).

Naoyo Kimura illustrated this card. The same name is on 256 other cards in the catalog.

Rapidash (#078) has 33 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 28 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 1999 to 2025. The earliest other card is Rapidash 44/64 in Jungle (1999). That card lists 70 HP, and this one lists 80 HP. Both list the rarity Uncommon. Mitsuhiro Arita illustrated that card, and Naoyo Kimura illustrated this one. 30 other cards of Rapidash list a different HP.

The attack Overrun lists 20 damage. The cost is Colorless, Colorless. Does 10 damage to 1 of your opponent's Benched Pokémon. (Don't apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokémon.) Blaze Up is another attack lists 50 damage. The cost is Fire, Fire, Colorless. Flip a coin. If tails, discard a Fire Energy attached to Rapidash and this attack does 10 damage to each of your opponent's Benched Pokémon. (Don't apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokémon.) Weakness is Water +20. The flavor text reads "It gallops at nearly 150 mph. With its mane blazing ferociously, it races as if it were an arrow."

I keep a set binder for Diamond & Pearl, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Diamond & Pearl set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Rapidash can fill a slot in Generation 1 binder (Kanto). I still need this card.
