Ursaring 38/123 · Mysterious Treasures

Mysterious Treasures is a set in the Diamond & Pearl series. It was released on 1 August 2007. The printed size is 123. This checklist is longer, at 124 cards. Ursaring is 38/123, in position 38 of 124 on this checklist. Before it is 37 Unown [I], and after it is 39 Walrein. The listed rarity is Rare.

Ursaring is a Stage 1 Colorless Pokémon with 100 HP. The card lists level 38. In the Pokédex this is Ursaring (#217), generation 2 (Johto). The card says it evolves from Teddiursa. In this catalog that name is Teddiursa (#216).

Mitsuhiro Arita illustrated this card. The same name is on 721 other cards in the catalog.

Ursaring (#217) has 15 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 13 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2001 to 2022. The earliest other card is Ursaring 15/75 in Neo Discovery (2001). That card lists 80 HP, and this one lists 100 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Rare. Naoyo Kimura illustrated that card, and Mitsuhiro Arita illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 3, and here it is 2. 13 other cards of Ursaring list a different HP.

The attack Bad Temper lists 30 damage. The cost is Colorless, Colorless. The Defending Pokémon is now Confused. During your opponent's next turn, that Pokémon's attacks do 60 more damage to the Active Pokémon (before applying Weakness and Resistance). Defensive Claw is another attack lists 60+ damage. The cost is Colorless, Colorless, Colorless, Colorless. If Teddiursa is on your Bench, this attack does 60 damage plus 20 more damage. If Teddiursa is on your Bench and has any damage counters on it, this attack does 60 damage plus 40 more damage and remove all damage counters from that Pokémon. Weakness is Fighting +20. Retreat cost is 2. The flavor text reads "In its territory, it leaves scratches on trees that bear delicious berries or fruits."

I keep a set binder for Mysterious Treasures, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Mysterious Treasures set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Ursaring can fill a slot in Generation 2 binder (Johto). Themed lists that include this exact card are Mitsuhiro Arita cards. I still need this card.
