Octillery 57/123 · Mysterious Treasures

Octillery is Pokédex #224, generation 2 (Johto). Octillery is a Stage 1 Water Pokémon with 80 HP. The card lists level 32. The card says it evolves from Remoraid. In this catalog that name is Remoraid (#223).

Octillery sits at 57/123 in Mysterious Treasures, position 57 of 124. Before it is 56 Nidorina, and after it is 58 Parasect. The set belongs to the Diamond & Pearl series. It was released on 1 August 2007. The printed size is 123. This checklist is longer, at 124 cards. The listed rarity is Uncommon.

The attack Crash Bomber lists 30+ damage. The cost is Colorless, Colorless. If the Defending Pokémon has any Special Energy cards attached to it, this attack does 30 damage plus 30 more damage. Then, discard a Special Energy card attached to the Defending Pokémon. Aqua Liner is another attack lists no damage number. The cost is Water, Water. Choose 1 of your opponent's Benched Pokémon. This attack does 40 damage to that Pokémon. (Don't apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokémon.) Weakness is Lightning +20. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "It lives in the gaps of boulders and in holes on the seafloor. Its suction cups grip prey tightly."

Octillery (#224) has 18 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 16 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2001 to 2026. The earliest other card is Octillery 34/64 in Neo Revelation (2001). Both list 80 HP. Both list the rarity Uncommon. Tomokazu Komiya illustrated that card, and Kagemaru Himeno illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 2, and here it is 1. 13 other cards of Octillery list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Kagemaru Himeno. I count 656 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Mysterious Treasures set binder is where a full Mysterious Treasures set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Octillery can fill a slot in Generation 2 binder (Johto). I still need this card.
