Lapras 21/106 · Great Encounters

Great Encounters is a set in the Diamond & Pearl series. It was released on 1 February 2008. The printed size is 106, and the checklist is the same length. Lapras is 21/106, in position 21 of 106 on this checklist. Before it is 20 Kingler, and after it is 22 Latias. The listed rarity is Rare.

Lapras is a Basic Water Pokémon with 80 HP. The card lists level 47. In the Pokédex this is Lapras (#131), generation 1 (Kanto).

Atsuko Nishida illustrated this card. The same name is on 408 other cards in the catalog.

Lapras (#131) has 49 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 36 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 1999 to 2026. The earliest other card is Lapras 10/62 in Fossil (1999). Both list 80 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Rare. Ken Sugimori illustrated that card, and Atsuko Nishida illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 2, and here it is 1. 45 other cards of Lapras list a different HP.

The attack Carry In lists no damage number. The cost is Water. Search your deck for a Pokémon Tool Card, a Supporter card, and a basic Energy card, show them to your opponent, and put them into your hand. Shuffle your deck afterward. Wave Splash is another attack lists 20 damage. The cost is Water, Colorless. Weakness is Lightning +20. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "It loves crossing the sea with people and Pokémon on its back. It understands human speech."

I keep a set binder for Great Encounters, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Great Encounters set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Lapras can fill a slot in Generation 1 binder (Kanto). I still need this card.
