Stormfront is a set in the Diamond & Pearl series. It was released on 1 November 2008. The printed size is 100. This checklist is longer, at 106 cards. Empoleon is 2/100, in position 2 of 106 on this checklist. Before it is 1 Dusknoir, and after it is 3 Infernape. The listed rarity is Rare Holo.
Empoleon is a Stage 2 Metal Pokémon with 130 HP. The card lists level 52. In the Pokédex this is Empoleon (#395), generation 4 (Sinnoh). The card says it evolves from Prinplup. In this catalog that name is Prinplup (#394).
Kouki Saitou illustrated this card. The same name is on 652 other cards in the catalog.
Empoleon (#395) has 22 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 18 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2007 to 2025. The earliest other card is Empoleon 4/130 in Diamond & Pearl (2007). Both list 130 HP. Both list the rarity Rare Holo. Nakaoka illustrated that card, and Kouki Saitou illustrated this one. 19 other cards of Empoleon list a different HP.
Emperor Aura is listed as Poké-Power. Once during your turn (before your attack), when you play Empoleon from your hand to evolve 1 of your Active Pokémon, you may use this power. Your opponent can't attach any Energy cards from his or her hand to his or her Pokémon during your opponent's next turn. The attack Steel Wing lists 40 damage. The cost is Colorless, Colorless. During your opponent's next turn, any damage done to Empoleon by attacks is reduced by 20 (after applying Weakness and Resistance). Whirlpool is another attack lists 60 damage. The cost is Water, Colorless, Colorless. Flip a coin. If heads, discard an Energy card attached to the Defending Pokémon. Weakness is Lightning +30. Retreat cost is 2.
I keep a set binder for Stormfront, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Stormfront set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Empoleon can fill a slot in Generation 4 binder (Sinnoh). I still need this card.
