Rocket's Suicune ex 105/109 · Team Rocket Returns

Rocket's Suicune ex, Team Rocket Returns #105

Suicune is Pokédex #245, generation 2 (Johto). Rocket's Suicune ex is a Basic ex Darkness Pokémon with 100 HP.

Rocket's Suicune ex sits at 105/109 in Team Rocket Returns, position 105 of 111. Before it is 104 Rocket's Snorlax ex, and after it is 106 Rocket's Zapdos ex. The set belongs to the EX series. It was released on 1 November 2004. The printed size is 109. This checklist is longer, at 111 cards. The listed rarity is Rare Holo EX.

Dark and Clear is listed as Poké-Body. As long as Rocket's Suicune ex has any Darkness Energy attached to it, Rocket's Suicune ex can't be affected by any Special Conditions. The attack Icy Wind lists 10 damage. The cost is Colorless. The Defending Pokémon is now Asleep. Hyper Splash is another attack lists 50+ damage. The cost is Water, Water, Colorless. If the Defending Pokémon is a Stage 2 Evolved Pokémon, this attack does 50 damage plus 40 more damage. Weakness is Lightning ×2. Retreat cost is 1. The card text says: When Pokémon-ex has been Knocked Out, your opponent takes 2 Prize cards.

Suicune (#245) has 30 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 21 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 1999 to 2025. The earliest other card is Suicune 53/53 in Wizards Black Star Promos (1999). That card is named Suicune, while this one is Rocket's Suicune ex. That card lists 70 HP, and this one lists 100 HP. The rarity there is Promo, and here it is Rare Holo EX. Atsuko Nishida illustrated that card, and Ryo Ueda illustrated this one. 28 other cards of Suicune list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Ryo Ueda. I count 462 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Team Rocket Returns set binder is where a full Team Rocket Returns set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Suicune can fill a slot in Generation 2 binder (Johto). Themed lists that include this exact card are Trainer's Pokémon, Team Rocket cards, and Legendary beasts. I still need this card.
