Steven's Metagross ex 289/217 · Ascended Heroes

Metagross is Pokédex #376, generation 3 (Hoenn). Steven's Metagross ex is a Stage 2 ex Metal Pokémon with 340 HP. The card says it evolves from Steven's Metang. In this catalog that name is Metang (#375).

Steven's Metagross ex sits at 289/217 in Ascended Heroes, position 289 of 295. Before it is 288 Fezandipiti ex, and after it is 290 Mega Dragonite ex. The set belongs to the Mega Evolution series. It was released on 30 January 2026. The printed size is 217. This checklist is longer, at 295 cards. The collector number is above the printed set size of 217. The listed rarity is Special Illustration Rare.

X-Boot is listed as Ability. Once during your turn, you may search your deck for a Basic Psychic Energy card, a Basic Metal Energy card, or 1 of each and attach them to your Psychic Pokémon and Metal Pokémon in any way you like. Then, shuffle your deck. The attack Metal Stomp lists 200 damage. The cost is Metal, Colorless, Colorless. Weakness is Fire ×2. Resistance is Grass -30. Retreat cost is 3. The card text says: Pokémon ex rule: When your Pokémon ex is Knocked Out, your opponent takes 2 Prize cards. The regulation mark is I.

Metagross (#376) has 33 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 22 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2004 to 2026. The earliest other card is Metagross 11/101 in Hidden Legends (2004). That card is named Metagross, while this one is Steven's Metagross ex. That card lists 100 HP, and this one lists 340 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Special Illustration Rare. Kouki Saitou illustrated that card, and chibi illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 2, and here it is 3. 32 other cards of Metagross list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads chibi. I count 40 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Ascended Heroes set binder is where a full Ascended Heroes set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Metagross can fill a slot in Generation 3 binder (Hoenn). Themed lists that include this exact card are Trainer's Pokémon, Special Illustration Rares, Steven and his Pokémon, and Pseudo-legendary lines. I still need this card.
