Dark Feraligatr 5/105 · Neo Destiny

Neo Destiny is a set in the Neo series. It was released on 28 February 2002. The printed size is 105. This checklist is longer, at 113 cards. Dark Feraligatr is 5/105, in position 5 of 113 on this checklist. Before it is 4 Dark Espeon, and after it is 6 Dark Gengar. The listed rarity is Rare Holo.

Dark Feraligatr is a Stage 2 Water Pokémon with 80 HP. The card lists level 44. In the Pokédex this is Feraligatr (#160), generation 2 (Johto). The card says it evolves from Dark Croconaw. In this catalog that name is Croconaw (#159).

Atsuko Nishida illustrated this card. The same name is on 408 other cards in the catalog.

Feraligatr (#160) has 21 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 15 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2000 to 2026. The earliest other card is Feraligatr 4/111 in Neo Genesis (2000). That card is named Feraligatr, while this one is Dark Feraligatr. That card lists 100 HP, and this one lists 80 HP. Both list the rarity Rare Holo. Ken Sugimori illustrated that card, and Atsuko Nishida illustrated this one. 21 other cards of Feraligatr list a different HP.

Scare is listed as Pokémon Power. As long as Dark Feraligatr is your Active Pokémon, all of your opponent's Baby Pokémon Powers stop working and your opponent's Baby Pokémon can't attack. This power stops working while Dark Feraligatr is Asleep, Confused, or Paralyzed. The attack Crushing Blow lists 50 damage. The cost is Water, Water, Water. If the Defending Pokémon has any Energy cards attached to it, flip a coin. If heads, choose 1 of those cards and discard it. Weakness is Grass ×2. Retreat cost is 3. The flavor text reads "Its powerful muscles allow it to move at a speed that belies its bulk."

I keep a set binder for Neo Destiny, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Neo Destiny set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Feraligatr can fill a slot in Generation 2 binder (Johto). Themed lists that include this exact card are Team Rocket cards, Johto starters, and Atsuko Nishida cards, early series. I still need this card.
