Armored Mewtwo SM228/248 · SM Black Star Promos

Mewtwo is Pokédex #150, generation 1 (Kanto). Armored Mewtwo is a Basic Psychic Pokémon with 120 HP.

Armored Mewtwo sits at SM228/248 in SM Black Star Promos, position 231 of 251. Before it is SM227 Pikachu, and after it is SM229 Venusaur & Snivy-GX. The set belongs to the Sun & Moon series. It was released on 3 February 2017. The printed size is 248. This checklist is longer, at 251 cards. The listed rarity is Promo.

The attack Psychic Raid lists 130 damage. The cost is Psychic, Psychic, Psychic. This Pokémon can't attack during your next turn. Weakness is Psychic ×2. Retreat cost is 3. The flavor text reads "Mewtwo was on a rampage searching for meaning to its existence in this world when Giovanni suppressed and controlled its power."

Mewtwo (#150) has 88 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 42 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 1999 to 2026. The earliest other card is Mewtwo 10/102 in Base (1999). That card is named Mewtwo, while this one is Armored Mewtwo. That card lists 60 HP, and this one lists 120 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Promo. Ken Sugimori illustrated that card, and 2019 Pikachu Project illustrated this one. 80 other cards of Mewtwo list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads 2019 Pikachu Project. I count 2 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

SM Black Star Promos set binder is where a full SM Black Star Promos set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Mewtwo can fill a slot in Generation 1 binder (Kanto). Themed lists that include this exact card are Mew and Mewtwo. I still need this card.
