Espeon & Deoxys-GX SM240/248 · SM Black Star Promos

Espeon is Pokédex #196, generation 2 (Johto). The card also lists Deoxys (#386). Espeon & Deoxys-GX is a Basic TAG TEAM GX Psychic Pokémon with 260 HP.

Espeon & Deoxys-GX sits at SM240/248 in SM Black Star Promos, position 243 of 251. Before it is SM239 Carracosta-GX, and after it is SM241 Umbreon & Darkrai-GX. The set belongs to the Sun & Moon series. It was released on 3 February 2017. The printed size is 248. This checklist is longer, at 251 cards. The listed rarity is Promo.

The attack Psychic Club lists 10+ damage. The cost is Psychic, Colorless, Colorless. This attack does 30 more damage for each of your Benched Psychic Pokémon. Cross Division-GX is another attack lists no damage number. The cost is Psychic, Colorless, Colorless. Put 10 damage counters on your opponent's Pokémon in any way you like. If this Pokémon has at least 3 extra Energy attached to it (in addition to this attack's cost), put 20 damage counters on them instead. (You can't use more than 1 GX attack in a game.) Weakness is Psychic ×2. Retreat cost is 2. The card text says: TAG TEAM rule: When your TAG TEAM is Knocked Out, your opponent takes 3 Prize cards.

Espeon (#196) has 39 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 26 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2001 to 2026. The earliest other card is Espeon 1/75 in Neo Discovery (2001). That card is named Espeon, while this one is Espeon & Deoxys-GX. That card lists 80 HP, and this one lists 260 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Promo. Atsuko Nishida illustrated that card, and Hasuno illustrated this one. 37 other cards of Espeon list a different HP. Deoxys (#386) has 45 cards in the catalog.

The illustrator line reads Hasuno. I count 74 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

SM Black Star Promos set binder is where a full SM Black Star Promos set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Espeon and Deoxys can fill a slot in Generation 2 binder (Johto) and Generation 3 binder (Hoenn). Themed lists that include this exact card are Eevee and the Eeveelutions. I still need this card.
