151 is a set in the Scarlet & Violet series. It was released on 22 September 2023. The printed size is 165. This checklist is longer, at 207 cards. Zapdos ex is 202/165, in position 202 of 207 on this checklist. Before it is 201 Alakazam ex, and after it is 203 Erika's Invitation. The collector number is above the printed set size of 165. The listed rarity is Special Illustration Rare.

Zapdos ex is a Basic ex Lightning Pokémon with 200 HP. In the Pokédex this is Zapdos (#145), generation 1 (Kanto).

Shiburingaru illustrated this card. The same name is on 35 other cards in the catalog.

Zapdos (#145) has 49 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 35 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 1999 to 2026. The earliest other card is Zapdos 16/102 in Base (1999). That card is named Zapdos, while this one is Zapdos ex. That card lists 90 HP, and this one lists 200 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Special Illustration Rare. Ken Sugimori illustrated that card, and Shiburingaru illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 3, and here it is 2. 41 other cards of Zapdos list a different HP.

Voltaic Float is listed as Ability. If this Pokémon has any Lightning Energy attached, it has no Retreat Cost. The attack Multishot Lightning lists 120 damage. The cost is Lightning, Lightning, Lightning. This attack also does 90 damage to 1 of your opponent's Benched Pokémon that has any damage counters on it. (Don't apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokémon.) Weakness is Lightning ×2. Resistance is Fighting -30. Retreat cost is 2. The card text says: Pokémon ex rule: When your Pokémon ex is Knocked Out, your opponent takes 2 Prize cards. The regulation mark is G.

I keep a set binder for 151, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the 151 set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Zapdos can fill a slot in Generation 1 binder (Kanto). Themed lists that include this exact card are Legendary birds and Special Illustration Rares. I still need this card.
