Rillaboom 15/202 · Sword & Shield

Rillaboom is Pokédex #812, generation 8 (Galar). Rillaboom is a Stage 2 Grass Pokémon with 190 HP. The card says it evolves from Thwackey. In this catalog that name is Thwackey (#811).

Rillaboom sits at 15/202 in Sword & Shield, position 15 of 216. Before it is 14 Rillaboom, and after it is 16 Blipbug. The set belongs to the Sword & Shield series. It was released on 7 February 2020. The printed size is 202. This checklist is longer, at 216 cards. The listed rarity is Rare.

The attack Drum Roll lists 90 damage. The cost is Grass, Grass, Colorless. This attack also does 10 damage to each of your opponent's Benched Pokémon. (Don't apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokémon.) Drum Beating is another attack lists 180 damage. The cost is Grass, Grass, Grass, Colorless. During your next turn, this Pokémon can't use Drum Beating. Weakness is Fire ×2. Retreat cost is 4. The flavor text reads "By drumming, it taps into the power of its special tree stump. The roots of the stump follow its direction in battle." The regulation mark is D.

Rillaboom (#812) has 17 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 9 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2019 to 2024. The earliest other card is Rillaboom SWSH006/307 in SWSH Black Star Promos (2019). That card lists 170 HP, and this one lists 190 HP. The rarity there is Promo, and here it is Rare. Kouki Saitou illustrated that card, and Shin Nagasawa illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 3, and here it is 4. 17 other cards of Rillaboom list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Shin Nagasawa. I count 303 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Sword & Shield set binder is where a full Sword & Shield set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Rillaboom can fill a slot in Generation 8 binder (Galar). I still need this card.
