Rillaboom SWSH277/307 · SWSH Black Star Promos

Rillaboom is Pokédex #812, generation 8 (Galar). Rillaboom is a Stage 2 Rapid Strike Grass Pokémon with 180 HP. The card says it evolves from Thwackey. In this catalog that name is Thwackey (#811).

Rillaboom sits at SWSH277/307 in SWSH Black Star Promos, position 277 of 304. Before it is SWSH276 Togetic, and after it is SWSH278 Cinderace. The set belongs to the Sword & Shield series. It was released on 15 November 2019. The printed size is 307. This checklist is longer, at 304 cards. The listed rarity is Promo.

The attack Wood Drain lists 60 damage. The cost is Grass, Colorless. Heal 30 damage from this Pokémon. Raging Repeated Strike is another attack lists 120+ damage. The cost is Grass, Grass, Colorless. Discard any amount of Energy from your Pokémon. This attack does 30 more damage for each card you discarded in this way. Weakness is Fire ×2. Retreat cost is 3. The flavor text reads "The one with the best drumming techniques becomes the boss of the troop. It has a gentle disposition and values harmony among its group." The regulation mark is E.

Rillaboom (#812) has 17 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 9 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2019 to 2024. The earliest other card is Rillaboom SWSH006/307 in SWSH Black Star Promos (2019). That card lists 170 HP, and this one lists 180 HP. Both list the rarity Promo. Kouki Saitou illustrated that card, and DOM illustrated this one. The regulation mark there is D, and here it is E. 15 other cards of Rillaboom list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads DOM. I count 36 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

SWSH Black Star Promos set binder is where a full SWSH Black Star Promos set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Rillaboom can fill a slot in Generation 8 binder (Galar). Themed lists that include this exact card are Galar starters and Rapid Strike. I still need this card.
