Lugia V 185/195 · Silver Tempest

Lugia is Pokédex #249, generation 2 (Johto). Lugia V is a Basic V Colorless Pokémon with 220 HP.

Lugia V sits at 185/195 in Silver Tempest, position 185 of 215. Before it is 184 Regidrago V, and after it is 186 Lugia V. The set belongs to the Sword & Shield series. It was released on 11 November 2022. The printed size is 195. This checklist is longer, at 215 cards. The listed rarity is Rare Ultra.

The attack Read the Wind lists no damage number. The cost is Colorless. Discard a card from your hand. If you do, draw 3 cards. Aero Dive is another attack lists 130 damage. The cost is Colorless, Colorless, Colorless, Colorless. You may discard a Stadium in play. Weakness is Lightning ×2. Resistance is Fighting -30. Retreat cost is 2. The card text says: V rule: When your Pokémon V is Knocked Out, your opponent takes 2 Prize cards. The regulation mark is F.

Lugia (#249) has 38 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 26 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2000 to 2026. The earliest other card is Lugia 9/111 in Neo Genesis (2000). That card is named Lugia, while this one is Lugia V. That card lists 90 HP, and this one lists 220 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Rare Ultra. Hironobu Yoshida illustrated that card, and 5ban Graphics illustrated this one. 35 other cards of Lugia list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads 5ban Graphics. I count 1,629 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Silver Tempest set binder is where a full Silver Tempest set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Lugia can fill a slot in Generation 2 binder (Johto). Themed lists that include this exact card are Giant Pokémon and All Lugia cards. I still need this card.
