Mewtwo VSTAR GG44/70 · Crown Zenith Galarian Gallery

Crown Zenith Galarian Gallery is a set in the Sword & Shield series. It was released on 20 January 2023. The printed size is 70, and the checklist is the same length. Mewtwo VSTAR is GG44/70, in position 44 of 70 on this checklist. Before it is GG43 Zeraora VSTAR, and after it is GG45 Deoxys VMAX. The listed rarity is Rare Holo VSTAR.

Mewtwo VSTAR is a VSTAR Psychic Pokémon with 280 HP. In the Pokédex this is Mewtwo (#150), generation 1 (Kanto). The card says it evolves from Mewtwo V. In this catalog that name is Mewtwo (#150).

GOSSAN illustrated this card. The same name is on 57 other cards in the catalog.

Mewtwo (#150) has 88 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 41 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 1999 to 2026. The earliest other card is Mewtwo 10/102 in Base (1999). That card is named Mewtwo, while this one is Mewtwo VSTAR. That card lists 60 HP, and this one lists 280 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Rare Holo VSTAR. Ken Sugimori illustrated that card, and GOSSAN illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 3, and here it is 2. 79 other cards of Mewtwo list a different HP.

The attack Psy Purge lists 90× damage. The cost is Psychic, Colorless. Discard up to 3 Psychic Energy from your Pokémon. This attack does 90 damage for each card you discarded in this way. Star Raid is another attack lists no damage number. The cost is Psychic, Colorless. This attack does 120 damage to each of your opponent's Pokémon V. This damage isn't affected by Weakness or Resistance. (You can't use more than 1 VSTAR Power in a game.) Weakness is Darkness ×2. Resistance is Fighting -30. Retreat cost is 2. The card text says: VSTAR rule: When your Pokémon VSTAR is Knocked Out, your opponent takes 2 Prize cards. The regulation mark is F.

I keep a set binder for Crown Zenith Galarian Gallery, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Crown Zenith Galarian Gallery set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Mewtwo can fill a slot in Generation 1 binder (Kanto). Themed lists that include this exact card are Mew and Mewtwo. I still need this card.
