Galarian Obstagoon SV080/122 · Shining Fates Shiny Vault

Obstagoon is Pokédex #862, generation 8 (Galar). Galarian Obstagoon is a Stage 2 Darkness Pokémon with 160 HP. The card says it evolves from Galarian Linoone. In this catalog that name is Linoone (#264).

Galarian Obstagoon sits at SV080/122 in Shining Fates Shiny Vault, position 80 of 122. Before it is SV079 Galarian Linoone, and after it is SV081 Nickit. The set belongs to the Sword & Shield series. It was released on 19 February 2021. The printed size is 122, and the checklist is the same length. The listed rarity is Rare Shiny.

Untamed Shout is listed as Ability. When you play this Pokémon from your hand to evolve 1 of your Pokémon during your turn, you may put 3 damage counters on 1 of your opponent's Pokémon. The attack Obstruct lists 90 damage. The cost is Darkness, Colorless. During your opponent's next turn, prevent all damage done to this Pokémon by attacks from Basic Pokémon. Weakness is Grass ×2. Retreat cost is 2. The flavor text reads "It evolved after experiencing numerous fights. While crossing its arms, it lets out a shout that would make any opponent flinch." The regulation mark is D.

Obstagoon (#862) has 9 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 7 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2019 to 2026. The earliest other card is Galarian Obstagoon SWSH059/307 in SWSH Black Star Promos (2019). Both list 160 HP. The rarity there is Promo, and here it is Rare Shiny. Hasuno illustrated that card, and Ryuta Fuse illustrated this one. 5 other cards of Obstagoon list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Ryuta Fuse. I count 98 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Shining Fates Shiny Vault set binder is where a full Shining Fates Shiny Vault set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Obstagoon can fill a slot in Generation 8 binder (Galar). Themed lists that include this exact card are Galarian forms. I still need this card.
