Tyranitar V SWSH109/307 · SWSH Black Star Promos

Tyranitar is Pokédex #248, generation 2 (Johto). Tyranitar V is a Basic V Single Strike Darkness Pokémon with 230 HP.

Tyranitar V sits at SWSH109/307 in SWSH Black Star Promos, position 109 of 304. Before it is SWSH108 Empoleon V, and after it is SWSH110 Crobat V. The set belongs to the Sword & Shield series. It was released on 15 November 2019. The printed size is 307. This checklist is longer, at 304 cards. The listed rarity is Promo.

The attack Cragalanche lists 60 damage. The cost is Darkness, Colorless, Colorless. Discard the top 2 cards of your opponent's deck. Single Strike Crush is another attack lists 240 damage. The cost is Darkness, Darkness, Colorless, Colorless. Discard the top 4 cards of your deck. Weakness is Grass ×2. Retreat cost is 3. The card text says: V rule: When your Pokémon V is Knocked Out, your opponent takes 2 Prize cards. The regulation mark is E.

Tyranitar (#248) has 47 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 29 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2001 to 2026. The earliest other card is Tyranitar 12/75 in Neo Discovery (2001). That card is named Tyranitar, while this one is Tyranitar V. That card lists 100 HP, and this one lists 230 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Promo. Hironobu Yoshida illustrated that card, and PLANETA Tsuji illustrated this one. 43 other cards of Tyranitar list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads PLANETA Tsuji. I count 81 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

SWSH Black Star Promos set binder is where a full SWSH Black Star Promos set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Tyranitar can fill a slot in Generation 2 binder (Johto). Themed lists that include this exact card are Single Strike. I still need this card.
