Bisharp 20/39 · Kalos Starter Set

Kalos Starter Set is a set in the XY series. It was released on 8 November 2013. The printed size is 39, and the checklist is the same length. Bisharp is 20/39, in position 20 of 39 on this checklist. Before it is 19 Pawniard, and after it is 21 Honedge.

Bisharp is a Stage 1 Metal Pokémon with 90 HP. In the Pokédex this is Bisharp (#625), generation 5 (Unova). The card says it evolves from Pawniard. In this catalog that name is Pawniard (#624).

Kagemaru Himeno illustrated this card. The same name is on 656 other cards in the catalog.

Bisharp (#625) has 21 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 17 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2011 to 2026. The earliest other card is Bisharp 76/101 in Noble Victories (2011). Both list 90 HP. Kouki Saitou illustrated that card, and Kagemaru Himeno illustrated this one. 17 other cards of Bisharp list a different HP.

The attack Wicked Jab lists 20 damage. The cost is Metal. Flip a coin. If heads, your opponent's Active Pokémon is now Paralyzed. Metal Claw is another attack lists 70 damage. The cost is Metal, Colorless, Colorless. Weakness is Fire ×2. Resistance is Psychic -20. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "This pitiless Pokémon commands a group of Pawniard to hound prey into immobility. It then moves in to finish the prey off."

I keep a set binder for Kalos Starter Set, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Kalos Starter Set set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Bisharp can fill a slot in Generation 5 binder (Unova). I still need this card.
