Bisharp 82/146 · XY

Bisharp is Pokédex #625, generation 5 (Unova). Bisharp is a Stage 1 Metal Pokémon with 90 HP. The card says it evolves from Pawniard. In this catalog that name is Pawniard (#624).

Bisharp sits at 82/146 in XY, position 82 of 146. Before it is 81 Pawniard, and after it is 83 Honedge. The set belongs to the XY series. It was released on 5 February 2014. The printed size is 146, and the checklist is the same length. The listed rarity is Rare.

The attack Metal Sound lists no damage number. The cost is Metal. Your opponent's Active Pokémon is now Confused. Metal Wallop is another attack lists 40 damage. The cost is Metal, Colorless. During your next turn, this Pokémon's Metal Wallop attack does 40 more damage (before applying Weakness and Resistance). Weakness is Fire ×2. Resistance is Psychic -20. Retreat cost is 2. The flavor text reads "This pitiless Pokémon commands a group of Pawniard to hound prey into immobility. It then moves in to finish the prey off."

Bisharp (#625) has 21 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 17 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2011 to 2026. The earliest other card is Bisharp 76/101 in Noble Victories (2011). Both list 90 HP. The rarity there is Uncommon, and here it is Rare. Kouki Saitou illustrated that card, and Hitoshi Ariga illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 1, and here it is 2. 17 other cards of Bisharp list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Hitoshi Ariga. I count 155 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

XY set binder is where a full XY set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Bisharp can fill a slot in Generation 5 binder (Unova). I still need this card.
