Parasect 2/162 · BREAKthrough

BREAKthrough is a set in the XY series. It was released on 4 November 2015. The printed size is 162. This checklist is longer, at 165 cards. Parasect is 2/162, in position 2 of 165 on this checklist. Before it is 1 Paras, and after it is 3 Pinsir. The listed rarity is Rare.

Parasect is a Stage 1 Grass Pokémon with 100 HP. In the Pokédex this is Parasect (#047), generation 1 (Kanto). The card says it evolves from Paras. In this catalog that name is Paras (#046).

Sumiyoshi Kizuki illustrated this card. The same name is on 212 other cards in the catalog.

Parasect (#047) has 16 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 16 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 1999 to 2025. The earliest other card is Parasect 41/64 in Jungle (1999). That card lists 60 HP, and this one lists 100 HP. The rarity there is Uncommon, and here it is Rare. Ken Sugimori illustrated that card, and Sumiyoshi Kizuki illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 1, and here it is 2. 14 other cards of Parasect list a different HP.

The attack Colorful Spores lists no damage number. The cost is Colorless. Choose 3 of your Pokémon. For each of those Pokémon, search your deck for a different type of basic Energy card and attach it to that Pokémon. Shuffle your deck afterward. X-Scissor is another attack lists 30+ damage. The cost is Grass, Colorless. Flip a coin. If heads, this attack does 30 more damage. Weakness is Fire ×2. Retreat cost is 2. The flavor text reads "The larger the mushroom on its back grows, the stronger the mushroom spores it scatters."

I keep a set binder for BREAKthrough, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the BREAKthrough set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Parasect can fill a slot in Generation 1 binder (Kanto). I still need this card.
