Mew-EX XY126/211 · XY Black Star Promos

XY Black Star Promos is a set in the XY series. It was released on 12 October 2013. The printed size is 211. This checklist is longer, at 216 cards. Mew-EX is XY126/211, in position 127 of 216 on this checklist. Before it is XY125 Mewtwo-EX, and after it is XY127 Moltres. The listed rarity is Promo.

Mew-EX is a Basic EX Psychic Pokémon with 120 HP. In the Pokédex this is Mew (#151), generation 1 (Kanto).

Eske Yoshinob illustrated this card. The same name is on 177 other cards in the catalog.

Mew (#151) has 60 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 35 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 1999 to 2026. The earliest other card is Mew 8/53 in Wizards Black Star Promos (1999). That card is named Mew, while this one is Mew-EX. That card lists 50 HP, and this one lists 120 HP. Both list the rarity Promo. Ken Sugimori illustrated that card, and Eske Yoshinob illustrated this one. 57 other cards of Mew list a different HP.

Versatile is listed as Ability. This Pokémon can use the attacks of any Pokémon in play (both yours and your opponent's). (You still need the necessary Energy to use each attack.) The attack Replace lists no damage number. The cost is Psychic. Move as many Energy attached to your Pokémon to your other Pokémon in any way you like. Weakness is Psychic ×2. Retreat cost is 1. The card text says: Pokémon-EX rule: When a Pokémon-EX has been Knocked Out, your opponent takes 2 Prize cards.

I keep a set binder for XY Black Star Promos, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the XY Black Star Promos set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Mew can fill a slot in Generation 1 binder (Kanto). Themed lists that include this exact card are Mew and Mewtwo. I still need this card.
