Fearow XY57/211 · XY Black Star Promos

Fearow is Pokédex #022, generation 1 (Kanto). Fearow is a Stage 1 Colorless Pokémon with 90 HP. The card says it evolves from Spearow. In this catalog that name is Spearow (#021).

Fearow sits at XY57/211 in XY Black Star Promos, position 57 of 216. Before it is XY56 Blissey, and after it is XY58 Malamar. The set belongs to the XY series. It was released on 12 October 2013. The printed size is 211. This checklist is longer, at 216 cards. The listed rarity is Promo.

The attack Repeating Drill lists 20× damage. The cost is Colorless. Flip 5 coins. This attack does 20 damage times the number of heads. Nosedive is another attack lists 80 damage. The cost is Colorless, Colorless, Colorless. This Pokémon does 20 damage to itself. Weakness is Lightning ×2. Resistance is Fighting -20. Retreat cost is 1. Δ Evolution is the ancient trait on this card. You may play this card from your hand to evolve a Pokémon during your first turn or the turn you play that Pokémon. The flavor text reads "It has the stamina to fly all day on its broad wings. It fights by using its sharp beak."

Fearow (#022) has 18 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 17 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 1999 to 2025. The earliest other card is Fearow 36/64 in Jungle (1999). That card lists 70 HP, and this one lists 90 HP. The rarity there is Uncommon, and here it is Promo. Mitsuhiro Arita illustrated that card, and match illustrated this one. 14 other cards of Fearow list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads match. I count 143 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

XY Black Star Promos set binder is where a full XY Black Star Promos set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Fearow can fill a slot in Generation 1 binder (Kanto). I still need this card.
