Dark Arbok 2/82 · Team Rocket

Arbok is Pokédex #024, generation 1 (Kanto). Dark Arbok is a Stage 1 Grass Pokémon with 60 HP. The card lists level 25. The card says it evolves from Ekans. In this catalog that name is Ekans (#023).

Dark Arbok sits at 2/82 in Team Rocket, position 2 of 83. Before it is 1 Dark Alakazam, and after it is 3 Dark Blastoise. The set belongs to the Base series. It was released on April 24, 2000. The printed size is 82. This checklist is longer, at 83 cards. The listed rarity is Rare Holo.

The attack Stare lists no damage number. The cost is Grass, Grass. Choose 1 of your opponent's Pokémon. This attack does 10 damage to that Pokémon. Don't apply Weakness and Resistance for this attack. (Any other effects that would happen after applying Weakness and Resistance still happen.) If that Pokémon has a Pokémon Power, that power stops working until the end of your opponent's next turn. Poison Vapor is another attack lists 10 damage. The cost is Grass, Grass, Grass. The Defending Pokémon is now Poisoned. This attack does 10 damage to each of your opponent's Benched Pokémon. (Don't apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokémon.) Weakness is Psychic ×2. Retreat cost is 2. The flavor text reads "Freezes its prey with its stare. If you should encounter one, remember not to look into its eyes."

Arbok (#024) has 19 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 16 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 1999 to 2025. The earliest other card is Arbok 31/62 in Fossil (1999). That card is named Arbok, while this one is Dark Arbok. Both list 60 HP. The rarity there is Uncommon, and here it is Rare Holo. Ken Sugimori illustrated that card, and Mitsuhiro Arita illustrated this one. 17 other cards of Arbok list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Mitsuhiro Arita. I count 721 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Team Rocket set binder is where a full Team Rocket set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Arbok can fill a slot in Generation 1 binder (Kanto). Themed lists that include this exact card are Mitsuhiro Arita cards and Team Rocket cards. I still need this card.
