Articuno 32/113 · Legendary Treasures

Articuno is Pokédex #144, generation 1 (Kanto). Articuno is a Basic Water Pokémon with 120 HP.

Articuno sits at 32/113 in Legendary Treasures, position 32 of 140. Before it is 31 Gyarados, and after it is 33 Piplup. The set belongs to the Black & White series. It was released on November 6, 2013. The printed size is 113. This checklist is longer, at 140 cards. The listed rarity is Rare Holo.

The attack Ice Beam lists 50 damage. The cost is Water, Colorless, Colorless. Flip a coin. If heads, the Defending Pokémon is now Paralyzed. Ice Wing is another attack lists 80 damage. The cost is Water, Colorless, Colorless, Colorless. Weakness is Metal ×2. Resistance is Fighting -20. Retreat cost is 2. The flavor text reads "A legendary bird Pokémon. It can create blizzards by freezing moisture in the air."

Articuno (#144) has 45 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 29 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 1999 to 2026. The earliest other card is Articuno 22/53 in Wizards Black Star Promos (1999). That card lists 70 HP, and this one lists 120 HP. The rarity there is Promo, and here it is Rare Holo. Toshinao Aoki illustrated that card, and Kagemaru Himeno illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 1, and here it is 2. 32 other cards of Articuno list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Kagemaru Himeno. I count 656 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Legendary Treasures set binder is where a full Legendary Treasures set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Articuno can fill a slot in Generation 1 binder (Kanto). I still need this card.
