Umbreon 61/108 · Dark Explorers

Dark Explorers is a set in the Black & White series. It was released on May 9, 2012. The printed size is 108. This checklist is longer, at 111 cards. Umbreon is 61/108, in position 61 of 111 on this checklist. Before it is 60 Umbreon, and after it is 62 Sableye. The listed rarity is Uncommon.

Umbreon is a Stage 1 Darkness Pokémon with 100 HP. In the Pokédex this is Umbreon (#197), generation 2 (Johto). The card says it evolves from Eevee. In this catalog that name is Eevee (#133).

Kouki Saitou illustrated this card. The same name is on 652 other cards in the catalog.

Umbreon (#197) has 45 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 27 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2001 to 2026. The earliest other card is Umbreon 13/75 in Neo Discovery (2001). That card lists 80 HP, and this one lists 100 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Uncommon. Kimiya Masago illustrated that card, and Kouki Saitou illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 1, and here it is 2. 40 other cards of Umbreon list a different HP.

The attack Confuse Ray lists 20 damage. The cost is Colorless. The Defending Pokémon is now Confused. Shadow Shutdown is another attack lists 60 damage. The cost is Darkness, Colorless, Colorless. Flip 2 coins. If both of them are heads, discard all Energy attached to the Defending Pokémon. Weakness is Fighting ×2. Resistance is Psychic -20. Retreat cost is 2. The flavor text reads "When exposed to the moon's aura, the rings on its body glow faintly and it gains a mysterious power."

I keep a set binder for Dark Explorers, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Dark Explorers set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Umbreon can fill a slot in Generation 2 binder (Johto). Themed lists that include this exact card are Eevee and the Eeveelutions. I still need this card.
