Altaria 152/149 · Boundaries Crossed

Altaria is Pokédex #334, generation 3 (Hoenn). Altaria is a Stage 1 Dragon Pokémon with 70 HP. The card says it evolves from Swablu. In this catalog that name is Swablu (#333).

Altaria sits at 152/149 in Boundaries Crossed, position 152 of 153. Before it is 151 Terrakion, and after it is 153 Rocky Helmet. The set belongs to the Black & White series. It was released on November 7, 2012. The printed size is 149. This checklist is longer, at 153 cards. The collector number is above the printed set size of 149. The listed rarity is Rare Secret.

Fight Song is listed as Ability. Your Dragon Pokémon's attacks do 20 more damage to the Active Pokémon (before applying Weakness and Resistance). The attack Glide lists 40 damage. The cost is Water, Metal, Colorless. Weakness is Dragon ×2. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "This extremely rare Pokémon is a different color than usual. It is very hard to find."

Altaria (#334) has 38 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 27 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2003 to 2024. The earliest other card is Altaria 2/97 in Dragon (2003). That card lists 80 HP, and this one lists 70 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Rare Secret. Atsuko Nishida illustrated that card, and 5ban Graphics illustrated this one. 35 other cards of Altaria list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads 5ban Graphics. I count 1,629 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Boundaries Crossed set binder is where a full Boundaries Crossed set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Altaria can fill a slot in Generation 3 binder (Hoenn). I still need this card.
