Altaria 2/97 · Dragon

Altaria is Pokédex #334, generation 3 (Hoenn). Altaria is a Stage 1 Colorless Pokémon with 80 HP. The card says it evolves from Swablu. In this catalog that name is Swablu (#333).

Altaria sits at 2/97 in Dragon, position 2 of 100. Before it is 1 Absol, and after it is 3 Crawdaunt. The set belongs to the EX series. It was released on November 24, 2003. The printed size is 97. This checklist is longer, at 100 cards. The listed rarity is Rare Holo.

The attack Dragon Dance lists no damage number. The cost is Colorless. During your next turn, if any of your current Active Pokémon does damage to any Defending Pokémon, this attack does 40 more damage (before applying Weakness and Resistance). Dragon Song is another attack lists 30 damage. The cost is Water, Lightning. Each Defending Pokémon is now Asleep. Weakness is Colorless ×2. Resistance is Grass -30 and Fighting -30. Retreat cost is 1.

Altaria (#334) has 38 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 27 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2005 to 2024. The earliest other card is Altaria 1/107 in Deoxys (2005). That card lists 70 HP, and this one lists 80 HP. Both list the rarity Rare Holo. Kyoko Umemoto illustrated that card, and Atsuko Nishida illustrated this one. 30 other cards of Altaria list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Atsuko Nishida. I count 408 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Dragon set binder is where a full Dragon set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Altaria can fill a slot in Generation 3 binder (Hoenn). I still need this card.
