Sigilyph 118/116 · Plasma Freeze

Sigilyph is Pokédex #561, generation 5 (Unova). Sigilyph is a Basic Psychic Pokémon with 90 HP.

Sigilyph sits at 118/116 in Plasma Freeze, position 118 of 122. Before it is 117 Empoleon, and after it is 119 Garbodor. The set belongs to the Black & White series. It was released on May 8, 2013. The printed size is 116. This checklist is longer, at 122 cards. The collector number is above the printed set size of 116. The listed rarity is Rare Secret.

Safeguard is listed as Ability. Prevent all effects of attacks, including damage, done to this Pokémon by Pokémon-EX. The attack Psychic lists 50+ damage. The cost is Psychic, Colorless, Colorless. Does 10 more damage for each Energy attached to the Defending Pokémon. Weakness is Psychic ×2. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "This extremely rare Pokémon is a different color than usual. It is very hard to find."

Sigilyph (#561) has 17 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 13 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2011 to 2025. The earliest other card is Sigilyph 41/98 in Emerging Powers (2011). Both list 90 HP. The rarity there is Uncommon, and here it is Rare Secret. Midori Harada illustrated that card, and Ayaka Yoshida illustrated this one. 11 other cards of Sigilyph list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Ayaka Yoshida. I count 128 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Plasma Freeze set binder is where a full Plasma Freeze set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Sigilyph can fill a slot in Generation 5 binder (Unova). I still need this card.
