Dragonite 83/116 · Plasma Freeze

Plasma Freeze is a set in the Black & White series. It was released on May 8, 2013. The printed size is 116. This checklist is longer, at 122 cards. Dragonite is 83/116, in position 83 of 122 on this checklist. Before it is 82 Dragonair, and after it is 84 Kingdra. The listed rarity is Rare Holo.

Dragonite is a Stage 2 Dragon Pokémon with 150 HP. In the Pokédex this is Dragonite (#149), generation 1 (Kanto). The card says it evolves from Dragonair. In this catalog that name is Dragonair (#148).

Akira Komayama illustrated this card. The same name is on 239 other cards in the catalog.

Dragonite (#149) has 48 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 29 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 1999 to 2026. The earliest other card is Dragonite 5/53 in Wizards Black Star Promos (1999). That card lists 90 HP, and this one lists 150 HP. The rarity there is Promo, and here it is Rare Holo. Toshinao Aoki illustrated that card, and Akira Komayama illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 2, and here it is 3. 44 other cards of Dragonite list a different HP.

The attack Deafen lists 60 damage. The cost is Colorless, Colorless, Colorless. Your opponent can't play any Item cards from his or her hand during his or her next turn. Healwing is another attack lists 90 damage. The cost is Grass, Lightning, Colorless, Colorless. Heal 30 damage from this Pokémon. Weakness is Dragon ×2. Retreat cost is 3. The flavor text reads "It is said to make its home somewhere in the sea. It guides crews of shipwrecks to shore."

I keep a set binder for Plasma Freeze, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Plasma Freeze set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Dragonite can fill a slot in Generation 1 binder (Kanto). I still need this card.
