Samurott BW22/101 · BW Black Star Promos

Samurott is Pokédex #503, generation 5 (Unova). Samurott is a Stage 2 Water Pokémon with 140 HP. The card says it evolves from Dewott. In this catalog that name is Dewott (#502).

Samurott sits at BW22/101 in BW Black Star Promos, position 22 of 101. Before it is BW21 Emboar, and after it is BW23 Reshiram. The set belongs to the Black & White series. It was released on March 1, 2011. The printed size is 101, and the checklist is the same length. The listed rarity is Promo.

Shell Armor is listed as Ability. Any damage done to this Pokémon by attacks is reduced by 20 (after applying Weakness and Resistance). The attack Hydro Pump lists 70+ damage. The cost is Colorless, Colorless, Colorless. Does 10 more damage for each Water Energy attached to this Pokémon. Weakness is Lightning ×2. Retreat cost is 2. The flavor text reads "Part of the armor on its anterior legs becomes a giant sword. Its cry alone is enough to intimidate most enemies."

Samurott (#503) has 18 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 9 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2011 to 2025. The earliest other card is Samurott 31/114 in Black & White (2011). Both list 140 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Promo. Masakazu Fukuda illustrated that card, and 5ban Graphics illustrated this one. 13 other cards of Samurott list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads 5ban Graphics. I count 1,629 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

BW Black Star Promos set binder is where a full BW Black Star Promos set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Samurott can fill a slot in Generation 5 binder (Unova). I still need this card.
