Emboar BW21/101 · BW Black Star Promos

BW Black Star Promos is a set in the Black & White series. It was released on March 1, 2011. The printed size is 101, and the checklist is the same length. Emboar is BW21/101, in position 21 of 101 on this checklist. Before it is BW20 Serperior, and after it is BW22 Samurott. The listed rarity is Promo.

Emboar is a Stage 2 Fire Pokémon with 150 HP. In the Pokédex this is Emboar (#500), generation 5 (Unova). The card says it evolves from Pignite. In this catalog that name is Pignite (#499).

5ban Graphics illustrated this card. The same name is on 1,629 other cards in the catalog.

Emboar (#500) has 12 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 9 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2011 to 2026. The earliest other card is Emboar 19/114 in Black & White (2011). Both list 150 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Promo. Kouki Saitou illustrated that card, and 5ban Graphics illustrated this one. 7 other cards of Emboar list a different HP.

Inferno Fandango is listed as Ability. As often as you like during your turn (before your attack), you may attach a Fire Energy card from your hand to 1 of your Pokémon. The attack Heat Crash lists 80 damage. The cost is Fire, Fire, Colorless, Colorless. Weakness is Water ×2. Retreat cost is 4. The flavor text reads "It can throw a fire punch by setting its fists on fire with its fiery chin. It cares deeply about its friends."

I keep a set binder for BW Black Star Promos, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the BW Black Star Promos set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Emboar can fill a slot in Generation 5 binder (Unova). I still need this card.
