BREAKpoint is a set in the XY series. It was released on February 3, 2016. The printed size is 122. This checklist is longer, at 126 cards. Emboar-EX is 14/122, in position 14 of 126 on this checklist. Before it is 13 Camerupt, and after it is 15 Heatmor. The listed rarity is Rare Holo EX.

Emboar-EX is a Basic EX Fire Pokémon with 180 HP. In the Pokédex this is Emboar (#500), generation 5 (Unova).

Eske Yoshinob illustrated this card. The same name is on 177 other cards in the catalog.

Emboar (#500) has 12 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 9 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2011 to 2026. The earliest other card is Emboar BW21/101 in BW Black Star Promos (2011). That card is named Emboar, while this one is Emboar-EX. That card lists 150 HP, and this one lists 180 HP. The rarity there is Promo, and here it is Rare Holo EX. 5ban Graphics illustrated that card, and Eske Yoshinob illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 4, and here it is 3. 9 other cards of Emboar list a different HP.

The attack Spiral Punch lists 20+ damage. The cost is Fire, Colorless. Flip a coin until you get tails. This attack does 20 more damage for each heads. Strong Flare is another attack lists 150 damage. The cost is Fire, Fire, Colorless, Colorless. Discard 2 Energy attached to this Pokémon. Weakness is Water ×2. Retreat cost is 3. The card text says: Pokémon-EX rule: When a Pokémon-EX has been Knocked Out, your opponent takes 2 Prize cards.

I keep a set binder for BREAKpoint, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the BREAKpoint set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Emboar can fill a slot in Generation 5 binder (Unova). Themed lists that include this exact card are Unova starters. I still need this card.
