Tornadus BW42/101 · BW Black Star Promos

Tornadus is Pokédex #641, generation 5 (Unova). Tornadus is a Basic Colorless Pokémon with 110 HP.

Tornadus sits at BW42/101 in BW Black Star Promos, position 42 of 101. Before it is BW41 Thundurus, and after it is BW43 Landorus. The set belongs to the Black & White series. It was released on March 1, 2011. The printed size is 101, and the checklist is the same length. The listed rarity is Promo.

The attack Energy Wheel lists no damage number. The cost is Colorless. Move an Energy from 1 of your Benched Pokémon to this Pokémon. Hurricane is another attack lists 80 damage. The cost is Colorless, Colorless, Colorless. Move a basic Energy from this Pokémon to 1 of your Benched Pokémon. Weakness is Lightning ×2. Resistance is Fighting -20. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "The lower half of its body is wrapped in a cloud of energy. It zooms through the sky at 200 mph."

Tornadus (#641) has 20 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 13 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2011 to 2025. The earliest other card is Tornadus-EX BW96/101 in BW Black Star Promos (2011). That card is named Tornadus-EX, while this one is Tornadus. That card lists 170 HP, and this one lists 110 HP. Both list the rarity Promo. Ryo Ueda illustrated that card, and 5ban Graphics illustrated this one. 15 other cards of Tornadus list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads 5ban Graphics. I count 1,629 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

BW Black Star Promos set binder is where a full BW Black Star Promos set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Tornadus can fill a slot in Generation 5 binder (Unova). I still need this card.
