Mew BW98/101 · BW Black Star Promos

BW Black Star Promos is a set in the Black & White series. It was released on March 1, 2011. The printed size is 101, and the checklist is the same length. Mew is BW98/101, in position 98 of 101 on this checklist. Before it is BW97 Eevee, and after it is BW99 Genesect. The listed rarity is Promo.

Mew is a Basic Psychic Pokémon with 60 HP. In the Pokédex this is Mew (#151), generation 1 (Kanto).

Naoki Saito illustrated this card. The same name is on 270 other cards in the catalog.

Mew (#151) has 60 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 34 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 1999 to 2026. The earliest other card is Mew 8/53 in Wizards Black Star Promos (1999). That card lists 50 HP, and this one lists 60 HP. Both list the rarity Promo. Ken Sugimori illustrated that card, and Naoki Saito illustrated this one. 47 other cards of Mew list a different HP.

Psyscan is listed as Ability. Once during your turn (before your attack), if this Pokémon is your Active Pokémon, you may have your opponent reveal his or her hand. The attack Psychic Exchange lists no damage number. The cost is Psychic. Shuffle your hand into your deck. Then, draw 6 cards. Weakness is Psychic ×2. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "Because it can use all kinds of moves, many scientists believe Mew to be the ancestor of Pokémon."

I keep a set binder for BW Black Star Promos, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the BW Black Star Promos set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Mew can fill a slot in Generation 1 binder (Kanto). I still need this card.
