Mew 55/165 · Expedition Base Set

Mew is Pokédex #151, generation 1 (Kanto). Mew is a Basic Psychic Pokémon with 50 HP.

Mew sits at 55/165 in Expedition Base Set, position 55 of 165. Before it is 54 Meganium, and after it is 56 Mewtwo. The set belongs to the E-Card series. It was released on September 15, 2002. The printed size is 165, and the checklist is the same length. The listed rarity is Rare.

The attack Super Psywave lists no damage number. The cost is Psychic, Colorless. Choose 1 of your opponent's Pokémon. Count the number of Energy cards attached to that Pokémon. Put that many damage counters on the Pokémon. Weakness is Psychic ×2. Retreat cost is 1.

Mew (#151) has 60 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 35 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 1999 to 2026. The earliest other card is Mew 8/53 in Wizards Black Star Promos (1999). Both list 50 HP. The rarity there is Promo, and here it is Rare. Ken Sugimori illustrated that card, and Hajime Kusajima illustrated this one. 54 other cards of Mew list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Hajime Kusajima. I count 206 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Expedition Base Set set binder is where a full Expedition Base Set set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Mew can fill a slot in Generation 1 binder (Kanto). I still need this card.
