Manaphy 8/100 · Majestic Dawn

Majestic Dawn is a set in the Diamond & Pearl series. It was released on May 1, 2008. The printed size is 100, and the checklist is the same length. Manaphy is 8/100, in position 8 of 100 on this checklist. Before it is 7 Leafeon, and after it is 9 Mewtwo. The listed rarity is Rare Holo.

Manaphy is a Basic Water Pokémon with 70 HP. The card lists level 32. In the Pokédex this is Manaphy (#490), generation 4 (Sinnoh).

Suwama Chiaki illustrated this card. The same name is on 102 other cards in the catalog.

Manaphy (#490) has 16 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 14 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2007 to 2023. The earliest other card is Manaphy 9/130 in Diamond & Pearl (2007). Both list 70 HP. Both list the rarity Rare Holo. Nakaoka illustrated that card, and Suwama Chiaki illustrated this one. 4 other cards of Manaphy list a different HP.

Aqua Skin is listed as Poké-Body. When you attach a Water Energy card from your hand to Manaphy, remove 2 damage counters from Manaphy. The attack Chase Up lists no damage number. The cost is Colorless. Flip a coin. If heads, search your deck for any 1 card and put it into your hand. Shuffle your deck afterward. Fountain is another attack lists 30 damage. The cost is Water, Water. You may attach up to 2 basic Water Energy cards from your hand to your Benched Pokémon in any way you like. Weakness is Lightning +20. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "Born on a cold seafloor, it will swim great distances to return to its birthplace."

I keep a set binder for Majestic Dawn, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Majestic Dawn set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Manaphy can fill a slot in Generation 4 binder (Sinnoh). I still need this card.
