Slowking 14/115 · Unseen Forces

Unseen Forces is a set in the EX series. It was released on August 1, 2005. The printed size is 115. This checklist is longer, at 145 cards. Slowking is 14/115, in position 16 of 145 on this checklist. Before it is 13 Slowbro, and after it is 15 Sudowoodo. The listed rarity is Rare Holo.

Slowking is a Stage 1 Psychic Pokémon with 70 HP. In the Pokédex this is Slowking (#199), generation 2 (Johto). The card says it evolves from Slowpoke. In this catalog that name is Slowpoke (#079).

Midori Harada illustrated this card. The same name is on 352 other cards in the catalog.

Slowking (#199) has 25 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 18 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2000 to 2025. The earliest other card is Slowking 14/111 in Neo Genesis (2000). That card lists 80 HP, and this one lists 70 HP. Both list the rarity Rare Holo. Ken Sugimori illustrated that card, and Midori Harada illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 3, and here it is 1. 24 other cards of Slowking list a different HP.

Item Search is listed as Poké-Power. Once during your turn (before your attack), you may search your deck for a Pokémon Tool card, show it to your opponent, and put it into your hand. Shuffle your deck afterward. This power can't be used if Slowking is affected by a Special Condition. The attack Aftermath lists 20+ damage. The cost is Psychic, Colorless. Does 20 damage plus 10 more damage for each Pokémon Tool card in your discard pile. You can't add more than 60 damage in this way. Weakness is Grass ×2. Retreat cost is 1.

I keep a set binder for Unseen Forces, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Unseen Forces set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Slowking can fill a slot in Generation 2 binder (Johto). I still need this card.
