Slowking 14/18 · Southern Islands

Slowking is Pokédex #199, generation 2 (Johto). Slowking is a Stage 1 Psychic Pokémon with 70 HP. The card says it evolves from Slowpoke. In this catalog that name is Slowpoke (#079).

Slowking sits at 14/18 in Southern Islands, position 14 of 18. Before it is 13 Exeggutor, and after it is 15 Wartortle. The set belongs to the Other series. It was released on July 31, 2001. The printed size is 18, and the checklist is the same length.

The attack Revelation lists no damage number. The cost is Psychic. Flip a coin. If heads, search your deck for a Trainer card, show it to your opponent, and put it into your hand. Shuffle your deck afterward. Psychic is another attack lists 10+ damage. The cost is Psychic, Colorless. Does 10 damage plus 10 more damage for each Energy card attached to the Defending Pokémon. Weakness is Psychic ×2. Retreat cost is 2. The flavor text reads "Its nonchalant reaction to everything somehow gives this Pokémon an imposing presence."

Slowking (#199) has 25 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 18 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2000 to 2025. The earliest other card is Slowking 14/111 in Neo Genesis (2000). That card lists 80 HP, and this one lists 70 HP. Ken Sugimori illustrated that card, and Naoyo Kimura illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 3, and here it is 2. 24 other cards of Slowking list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Naoyo Kimura. I count 256 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Southern Islands set binder is where a full Southern Islands set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Slowking can fill a slot in Generation 2 binder (Johto). I still need this card.
