Dragonite ex δ 91/101 · Dragon Frontiers

Dragon Frontiers is a set in the EX series. It was released on November 1, 2006. The printed size is 101, and the checklist is the same length. Dragonite ex δ is 91/101, in position 91 of 101 on this checklist. Before it is 90 Altaria ex δ, and after it is 92 Flygon ex δ. The listed rarity is Rare Holo EX.

Dragonite ex δ is a Stage 2 ex Grass Pokémon with 150 HP. In the Pokédex this is Dragonite (#149), generation 1 (Kanto). The card says it evolves from Dragonair. In this catalog that name is Dragonair (#148).

Ryo Ueda illustrated this card. The same name is on 462 other cards in the catalog.

Dragonite (#149) has 48 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 29 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 1999 to 2026. The earliest other card is Dragonite 5/53 in Wizards Black Star Promos (1999). That card is named Dragonite, while this one is Dragonite ex δ. That card lists 90 HP, and this one lists 150 HP. The rarity there is Promo, and here it is Rare Holo EX. Toshinao Aoki illustrated that card, and Ryo Ueda illustrated this one. 44 other cards of Dragonite list a different HP.

The attack Deafen lists 40 damage. The cost is Colorless, Colorless. Your opponent can't play any Trainer cards (except for Supporter cards) from his or her hand during your opponent's next turn. Dragon Roar is another attack lists no damage number. The cost is Grass, Grass, Colorless, Colorless. Put 8 damage counters on the Defending Pokémon. If that Pokémon would be Knocked Out by this attack, put any damage counters not necessary to Knock Out the Defending Pokémon on your opponent's Benched Pokémon in any way you like. Retreat cost is 2. The card text says: When Pokémon-ex has been Knocked Out, your opponent takes 2 Prize cards.

I keep a set binder for Dragon Frontiers, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Dragon Frontiers set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Dragonite can fill a slot in Generation 1 binder (Kanto). Themed lists that include this exact card are Delta Species cards and Dratini, Dragonair, and Dragonite. I still need this card.
