Masquerain 20/101 · Hidden Legends

Masquerain is Pokédex #284, generation 3 (Hoenn). Masquerain is a Stage 1 Grass Pokémon with 70 HP. The card says it evolves from Surskit. In this catalog that name is Surskit (#283).

Masquerain sits at 20/101 in Hidden Legends, position 20 of 102. Before it is 19 Huntail, and after it is 21 Metang. The set belongs to the EX series. It was released on June 1, 2004. The printed size is 101. This checklist is longer, at 102 cards. The listed rarity is Rare.

The attack Whirlwind lists 20 damage. The cost is Colorless. Your opponent switches the Defending Pokémon with 1 of his or her Benched Pokémon. Silver Wind is another attack lists 30 damage. The cost is Grass, Colorless. During your next turn, if an attack does damage to the Defending Pokémon (after applying Weakness and Resistance), that attack does 30 more damage. Weakness is Lightning ×2. Resistance is Fighting -30.

Masquerain (#284) has 12 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 12 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2004 to 2023. The earliest other card is Masquerain 7/17 in POP Series 1 (2004). Both list 70 HP. The rarity there is Uncommon, and here it is Rare. Kagemaru Himeno illustrated that card, and Toshinao Aoki illustrated this one. 9 other cards of Masquerain list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Toshinao Aoki. I count 57 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Hidden Legends set binder is where a full Hidden Legends set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Masquerain can fill a slot in Generation 3 binder (Hoenn). I still need this card.
