Masquerain 7/17 · POP Series 1

POP Series 1 is a set in the POP series. It was released on September 1, 2004. The printed size is 17, and the checklist is the same length. Masquerain is 7/17, in position 7 of 17 on this checklist. Before it is 6 Beautifly, and after it is 8 Murkrow. The listed rarity is Uncommon.

Masquerain is a Stage 1 Grass Pokémon with 70 HP. In the Pokédex this is Masquerain (#284), generation 3 (Hoenn). The card says it evolves from Surskit. In this catalog that name is Surskit (#283).

Kagemaru Himeno illustrated this card. The same name is on 656 other cards in the catalog.

Masquerain (#284) has 12 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 12 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2004 to 2023. The earliest other card is Masquerain 20/101 in Hidden Legends (2004). Both list 70 HP. The rarity there is Rare, and here it is Uncommon. Toshinao Aoki illustrated that card, and Kagemaru Himeno illustrated this one. 9 other cards of Masquerain list a different HP.

The attack Quick Attack lists 10+ damage. The cost is Colorless. Flip a coin. If heads, this attack does 10 damage plus 20 more damage. Gust is another attack lists 50 damage. The cost is Grass, Colorless, Colorless. Weakness is Lightning ×2. Resistance is Fighting -30.

I keep a set binder for POP Series 1, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the POP Series 1 set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Masquerain can fill a slot in Generation 3 binder (Hoenn). I still need this card.
