Slaking 15/107 · Deoxys

Deoxys is a set in the EX series. It was released on February 1, 2005. The printed size is 107. This checklist is longer, at 108 cards. Slaking is 15/107, in position 15 of 108 on this checklist. Before it is 14 Shedinja, and after it is 16 Deoxys. The listed rarity is Rare Holo.

Slaking is a Stage 2 Colorless Pokémon with 120 HP. In the Pokédex this is Slaking (#289), generation 3 (Hoenn). The card says it evolves from Vigoroth. In this catalog that name is Vigoroth (#288).

Mitsuhiro Arita illustrated this card. The same name is on 721 other cards in the catalog.

Slaking (#289) has 15 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 13 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2003 to 2024. The earliest other card is Slaking 12/109 in Ruby & Sapphire (2003). Both list 120 HP. Both list the rarity Rare Holo. Ken Sugimori illustrated that card, and Mitsuhiro Arita illustrated this one. 13 other cards of Slaking list a different HP.

Lazy Aura is listed as Poké-Body. As long as Slaking is your Active Pokémon, any damage done by attacks from your opponent's Pokémon-ex is reduced by 30 (before applying Weakness and Resistance). The attack Amnesia lists 20 damage. The cost is Colorless, Colorless. Choose 1 of the Defending Pokémon's attacks. That Pokémon can't use that attack during your opponent's next turn. Lazy Headbutt is another attack lists 70 damage. The cost is Colorless, Colorless, Colorless, Colorless. Slaking is now Asleep. Weakness is Fighting ×2. Retreat cost is 3.

I keep a set binder for Deoxys, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Deoxys set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Slaking can fill a slot in Generation 3 binder (Hoenn). Themed lists that include this exact card are Mitsuhiro Arita cards. I still need this card.
