Unown 54/123 · HeartGold & SoulSilver

HeartGold & SoulSilver is a set in the HeartGold & SoulSilver series. It was released on February 10, 2010. The printed size is 123. This checklist is longer, at 124 cards. Unown is 54/123, in position 54 of 124 on this checklist. Before it is 53 Starmie, and after it is 55 Unown. The listed rarity is Uncommon.

Unown is a Basic Psychic Pokémon with 50 HP. In the Pokédex this is Unown (#201), generation 2 (Johto).

Hideaki Hakozaki illustrated this card. The same name is on 35 other cards in the catalog.

Unown (#201) has 95 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 18 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 1999 to 2026. The earliest other card is Unown [J] 38/53 in Wizards Black Star Promos (1999). That card is named Unown [J], while this one is Unown. That card lists 40 HP, and this one lists 50 HP. The rarity there is Promo, and here it is Uncommon. Hideki Kazama illustrated that card, and Hideaki Hakozaki illustrated this one. 67 other cards of Unown list a different HP.

RETURN is listed as Poké-Power. Once during your turn, when you put Unown from your hand onto your Bench, you may return all Energy attached to 1 of your Pokémon to your hand. The attack Hidden Power lists 10 damage. The cost is Psychic. Weakness is Psychic ×2. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "Their shapes look like hieroglyphs on ancient tablets. It is said that the two are somehow related."

I keep a set binder for HeartGold & SoulSilver, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the HeartGold & SoulSilver set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Unown can fill a slot in Generation 2 binder (Johto). Themed lists that include this exact card are Unown. I still need this card.
