Amoonguss 14/236 · Unified Minds

Unified Minds is a set in the Sun & Moon series. It was released on August 2, 2019. The printed size is 236. This checklist is longer, at 261 cards. Amoonguss is 14/236, in position 14 of 261 on this checklist. Before it is 13 Foongus, and after it is 15 Fomantis. The listed rarity is Rare.

Amoonguss is a Stage 1 Grass Pokémon with 100 HP. In the Pokédex this is Amoonguss (#591), generation 5 (Unova). The card says it evolves from Foongus. In this catalog that name is Foongus (#590).

Midori Harada illustrated this card. The same name is on 352 other cards in the catalog.

Amoonguss (#591) has 10 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 9 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2011 to 2025. The earliest other card is Amoonguss 10/101 in Noble Victories (2011). That card lists 90 HP, and this one lists 100 HP. The rarity there is Uncommon, and here it is Rare. Kagemaru Himeno illustrated that card, and Midori Harada illustrated this one. 9 other cards of Amoonguss list a different HP.

Bursting Spores is listed as Ability. Whenever you play a Pokémon that has the Spore attack from your hand during your turn, you may leave your opponent's Active Pokémon Asleep and Poisoned. The attack Venoshock lists 20+ damage. The cost is Colorless, Colorless. If your opponent's Active Pokémon is Poisoned, this attack does 70 more damage. Weakness is Fire ×2. Retreat cost is 2. The flavor text reads "They show off their Poké Ball caps to lure prey, but very few Pokémon are fooled by this."

I keep a set binder for Unified Minds, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Unified Minds set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Amoonguss can fill a slot in Generation 5 binder (Unova). I still need this card.
