Amoonguss 10/197 · Obsidian Flames

Obsidian Flames is a set in the Scarlet & Violet series. It was released on August 11, 2023. The printed size is 197. This checklist is longer, at 230 cards. Amoonguss is 10/197, in position 10 of 230 on this checklist. Before it is 9 Foongus, and after it is 11 Phantump. The listed rarity is Uncommon.

Amoonguss is a Stage 1 Grass Pokémon with 110 HP. In the Pokédex this is Amoonguss (#591), generation 5 (Unova). The card says it evolves from Foongus. In this catalog that name is Foongus (#590).

Nobuhiro Imagawa illustrated this card. The same name is on 9 other cards in the catalog.

Amoonguss (#591) has 10 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 9 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2011 to 2025. The earliest other card is Amoonguss 10/101 in Noble Victories (2011). That card lists 90 HP, and this one lists 110 HP. Both list the rarity Uncommon. Kagemaru Himeno illustrated that card, and Nobuhiro Imagawa illustrated this one. 10 other cards of Amoonguss list a different HP.

The attack Dangerous Spores lists 60 damage. The cost is Grass, Colorless. Flip a coin. If heads, your opponent's Active Pokémon is now Paralyzed and Poisoned. Weakness is Fire ×2. Retreat cost is 2. The flavor text reads "Be wary of the poisonous spores it releases. Mushrooms resembling Amoonguss's caps will grow out of anywhere the spores touch." The regulation mark is G.

I keep a set binder for Obsidian Flames, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Obsidian Flames set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Amoonguss can fill a slot in Generation 5 binder (Unova). I still need this card.
