Amoonguss SM202/248 · SM Black Star Promos

Amoonguss is Pokédex #591, generation 5 (Unova). Amoonguss is a Stage 1 Grass Pokémon with 100 HP. The card says it evolves from Foongus. In this catalog that name is Foongus (#590).

Amoonguss sits at SM202/248 in SM Black Star Promos, position 205 of 251. Before it is SM201 Reshiram & Charizard-GX, and after it is SM203 Tapu Fini. The set belongs to the Sun & Moon series. It was released on February 3, 2017. The printed size is 248. This checklist is longer, at 251 cards. The listed rarity is Promo.

Bursting Spores is listed as Ability. Whenever you play a Pokémon that has the Spore attack from your hand during your turn, you may leave your opponent's Active Pokémon Asleep and Poisoned. The attack Venoshock lists 20+ damage. The cost is Colorless, Colorless. If your opponent's Active Pokémon is Poisoned, this attack does 70 more damage. Weakness is Fire ×2. Retreat cost is 2. The flavor text reads "They show off their Poké Ball caps to lure prey, but very few Pokémon are fooled by this."

Amoonguss (#591) has 10 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 9 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2011 to 2025. The earliest other card is Amoonguss 10/101 in Noble Victories (2011). That card lists 90 HP, and this one lists 100 HP. The rarity there is Uncommon, and here it is Promo. Kagemaru Himeno illustrated that card, and MAHOU illustrated this one. 9 other cards of Amoonguss list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads MAHOU. I count 122 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

SM Black Star Promos set binder is where a full SM Black Star Promos set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Amoonguss can fill a slot in Generation 5 binder (Unova). I still need this card.
