Flygon-GX 256/236 · Cosmic Eclipse

Flygon is Pokédex #330, generation 3 (Hoenn). Flygon-GX is a Stage 2 GX Fighting Pokémon with 240 HP. The card says it evolves from Vibrava. In this catalog that name is Vibrava (#329).

Flygon-GX sits at 256/236 in Cosmic Eclipse, position 257 of 272. Before it is 255 Oricorio-GX, and after it is 257 Alolan Persian-GX. The set belongs to the Sun & Moon series. It was released on November 1, 2019. The printed size is 236. This checklist is longer, at 272 cards. The collector number is above the printed set size of 236. The listed rarity is Rare Rainbow.

Dusty Defense is listed as Ability. As long as this Pokémon is your Active Pokémon, all of your Pokémon take 30 less damage from your opponent's attacks (after applying Weakness and Resistance). The attack Desert Hurricane lists 120+ damage. The cost is Fighting, Fighting, Fighting. If there is any Stadium card in play, this attack does 120 more damage. Then, discard that Stadium card. Sonic Edge-GX is another attack lists 220 damage. The cost is Fighting, Fighting, Fighting. This attack's damage isn't affected by any effects on your opponent's Active Pokémon. (You can't use more than 1 GX attack in a game.) Weakness is Grass ×2. Retreat cost is 2. The card text says: Pokémon-GX rule: When your Pokémon-GX is Knocked Out, your opponent takes 2 Prize cards.

Flygon (#330) has 27 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 20 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2003 to 2025. The earliest other card is Flygon 25/40 in Nintendo Black Star Promos (2003). That card is named Flygon, while this one is Flygon-GX. That card lists 120 HP, and this one lists 240 HP. The rarity there is Promo, and here it is Rare Rainbow. Kouki Saitou illustrated that card, and PLANETA Tsuji illustrated this one. 25 other cards of Flygon list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads PLANETA Tsuji. I count 81 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Cosmic Eclipse set binder is where a full Cosmic Eclipse set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Flygon can fill a slot in Generation 3 binder (Hoenn). I still need this card.
